Later that day we went to a family picnic at Brian's work. Lunch was Rudy's Bar-B-Q (yum!), and the kids enjoyed the activities. Kara got her face painted and participated in a sponge relay race, and they both played on the playground and got helium balloons.
Kara requested a "brown-and-white duck."

playing in the gravel (so much fun!)

playing a complex game of football and horseshoes :)

USAA always has deer and other wildlife roaming its campus. As we were leaving, we spotted a herd of them (I counted 15!) grazing by the road. It was neat to see so many so close.

Cute, fun pics! That's so sweet you have a daughter you could enjoy that camp out with. I guess I should've just come for the fun of it. I didn't realize I just might actually know some people there in the stake. Glad you had fun!
Hey that picnic looks like it was fun...too bad we went to it too and they had EVERYTHING PACKED UP!!! It was LAAAME! Abby was so bummed b/c we'd been talking to her about it all day. Oh well, glad you guys had fun though!
As I was reading your blog I thought to myself, "Our stake should have a mother/daughter campout" and then it hit me--I don't have a daughter (LOL)---that was weird because it really took a minute before I realized this--maybe it's because I always day-dream about having a daughter---I always tell Jason that after 4 boys we're adopting a girl!
Okay, super cool about the deer and animals there, I'm sure the kids loved that!
I've glad you guys had a great time at the camp out. All-in-all, it was good enough for me to go back.... hopefully next year with a few less issues!
The mother & daughter campout is such a cute idea. Looks like fun too!
Hey ya! I wanna girls campout! (Don't know if we'd actually go to bed though...) Looks like fun. I love Kara's posed pic. What a cutie. :)
A stake mother-daughter camp out...what a great idea!! The pictures are adorable. Your family is growing so fast. I'm so glad we get to stay in touch this way!
