We planned to all drive to the D.C. temple to do some work there, but it started snowing... and snowing... and snowing! It snowed over 24 inches in 2 days. So instead of going to the temple (which was closed) that Saturday, we played in the snow.
the evening it first began snowing

Unfortunately, we came home to a house with no power and had to throw out the contents of our fridge and freezer. BUT we had a WONDERFUL 3-week vacation in Virginia! Thanks, Mom and Dad; it was great to see y'all!

What a fun vacation!! And look at all that snow!! I wish we had gotten so much, but it looks like it all went to Virginia :) It looks like you guys had a GREAT time and got to see some cool stuff while you were there! I'm glad you guys traveled safe and hada good time! :)
WOW! That's incredible!! I'm still stuck at "You flew with three children!!!!!!!!" I'm impressed. I thought Elena and I were going to die on the way back from Utah.
Looks like you had a great trip and saw some cool things! That is pretty fun you were there during the big snow storm. Looks like you had fun playing in it! Glad you had a great trip. That is too bad about your food when you got home. It seems I heard there was a big wind storm around Christmas time or something, did that knock it our for ya?
Wow-what a fun trip! I'm so jealous you had a white Christmas! We were wearing short sleeve shirts here. Brian's family looks like a lot of fun!
